Fifth Sunday of Easter, Cycle B

Sunday, May 2, 2021 Gospel Reading John 15:1-8

Jesus teaches that he is the vine and that his disciples are the branches. In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells a parable about the vine and the branches to teach us about staying close to him. Jesus calls us to stay as close to him as branches are to a vine and to love and serve one another. We can stay close to Jesus by praying. We can pray for Jesus’ help or thank him for something we are grateful for. What are some ways we can stay close to Jesus and love and serve one another?
