March 3rd is Hinamatsuri (the Dolls Festival) This festival celebrates  the health and happiness of children. Japanese children display a set of ornamental dolls (hina-ningyō) representing the Emperor, Empress, and attendants.

Junior students enjoyed looking at the hina doll display Sensei bought from home. They made their own hina dolls to take home to celebrate the festival.
