3-BE & 4-HF - Buddy Activity

This week was 'Family week' so we thought it was a great opportunity to get together with our buddies and do an activity about our families. 

In 3BE and 4HF, students talked with their buddies about their family, who is in their family, favourite things they like to do with their family, things their family did together during remote learning, family celebrations and how their family shows love for each other. Students drew a picture of their families to create a class book. It was wonderful to see the students engaging with each other so positively, sharing stories and having fun together. 

Year 4 Design & Technology

It was great to see students from 4CM putting what they had been learning as part of Design and Technology into practice. In groups, students were set the challenge of designing and constructing the tallest, freestanding structure possible using only the materials on the list. These included two pieces of A3 paper, 10 straws and masking tape. The structure needed to be able hold an item at the top without it collapsing. In the design stage, students needed to think about the shapes they were going to use for their structure. All groups displayed amazing teamwork to complete the challenge. Upon completion, students reflected on what went well and what could be done differently next time. As well as great learning taking place, students had lots of fun!
