VISUAL ARTS - Emma Adcock
It has been a busy few weeks in the Art room where we have been finishing off our drawing pieces and now creating collage pieces.
Foundation
To finish off our learning about drawing the students created self portraits using lines, shapes, colours and patterns. They used these things to create interest to their drawings by adding details such as patterns on clothing and jewellery. They also learnt to add a background to their drawings. These are on display in the art room entrance, come and have a look.
In the past few lessons the students we have been discovering how we can create pictures using paper, glue, scissors and glue to create lines and shapes. We also enjoyed a lesson outside where they worked in groups and used natural materials such as leaves, sticks and gumnuts and used their imagination to create animals and creatures such as butterflies, caterpillars and dragons.
Juniors
To finish off our learning students created a background of a place of their choice such as a the beach or the mountains and used lines and colour to add interest and fill the entire space of the page. They then chose an object of choice that would fit in their setting and used lines, shapes, colours and pattern to add lots of details to their pictures.
Over the last few weeks we have been studying the work on Pete Cromer and how he uses collage, in particular different shapes and colours to create a range of different animals including birds. The students then created their own birds inspired by his work.
