YEAR 5 NEWS
Last week Year 5 students consolidated History learning by playing ‘olden day’ games with their Year 1 Buddies, and also travelled to Coal Creek to witness exactly what life was like in the past. The experiences have enabled far greater detailed being described in student Historical Narratives. Here are a few paragraph examples of student work:
When Natasha got to Australia she worked harder and harder. ‘’When is this going to end? Is 7 years nearly over? I want to go home and live my own life!’’ said Natasha. “Hey, you work harder or else you’ll get whipped.’’ shouted a worker. Natasha kept working. Then a bell rang. ‘’Lunch time!” Natasha walked to the dining area and all she got was a small bread roll. After a few hours Natasha walked to her bed and laid down on a wooden hard bed. (By Esther)
The little girl was shivering and shaking , she was so scared because it was her first time on a ship. She had to wear prison ankle chains so she does not try to escape and she had to go to a mysterious, creepy and dark cell. (By Nakira)
