Celebrations of Learning

Yesterday our students celebrated their learning in Inquiry this term by getting dressed up as an engineer, inventor or scientist.  We all had a fun day of learning, experimenting and sharing stories of how these very important people make positive contributions to our society and shape the way we live and work.  It was fantastic to see so many students actively engaged in their learning yesterday and throughout the term, celebrating all the many facets that Design & Technology and Science have to offer – congratulations to all our students on an amazing, fun and interesting term of learning.

Semester One, 2021 Reports and Student Learning Portfolios

Semester One Reports and Student Learning Portfolios will be distributed to students and parents today -  Thursday 24 June.  We hope you find the Semester One Report and Student Learning Portfolio valuable documents to highlight and celebrate your child’s learning journey.  Please return your child’s Student Learning Portfolio at the start of Term 3 – Monday 12 July so your child and their teacher can prepare to share their learning, growth and achievements at our Student Learning Conversations.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions in place, the Student Learning Conversations (Parent Teacher Interviews) will be held in Term 3 on the following dates:

• Monday 19 July from 3.40 pm
• Wednesday 21 July from 3.40 pm

Parents received a letter via SZApp on 21 June, 2021 with PTO login details to complete their online bookings for our Student Learning Conversations.  At this stage we are planning for the Student Learning Conversations to be held in the Allen Hall – face to face.  It is important your child is present at the Student Learning Conversation so they can go through their data, learning progress and achievements so far this year.  

Staffing updates

We wish Laura Fonti all the very best as her family awaits the arrival of their third child due early in Term 3.  While Laura is on maternity leave, Digital Technologies for our Year 3 - 6 students will be taught by Emma Adcock.  Emma will continue to be in FSL every Friday in Semester Two and we welcome her to the specialist role while Laura is on maternity leave.  In order to cater for staffing changes, your child’s Semester Two Specialist Timetable may have changed.  The Semester Two timetables will be shared with students and parents today.
